Professional experience
Dr Stapelberg is an International Registered Professional Engineer (APEC Eng / IntPE), a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia (FIEAust) with qualifications in Industrial (Electro-Mechanical) Engineering BScEng, with majors in systems engineering, reliability engineering, and logistics engineering (systems integrity), including post-graduate study in reliability engineering and control systems in lieu of a Master of Engineering. Fred has post-graduate qualifications in engineering, PhD (Eng), specialising in the integrity (reliability, availability, maintainability and safety, i.e. RAMS) of complex integrated systems engineering design in large engineering projects; as well as post-graduate qualifications in business administration and management, MBA, with majors in project management, risk management, financial management and cost accounting; and a professional doctorate, DBA, specialising in asset management.. He has been engaged in professional engineering practice for close on three decades as a director of the engineering consulting firm, ICS Industrial Consulting Services Pty Ltd, as well as director of the Academy for Professional Education and Training, a collaborative executive training organisation to the Australian Federal Government funded Cooperative Research Centre for Infrastructure and Engineering Asset Management. Dr Stapelberg is currently engaged in the academic environment as Senior Lecturer at Griffith University and Adjunct Professor and research consultant for the Cooperative Research Centre.
